Alison G Saunders

One of Alison’s favourite sayings is ‘I don’t like boring beige’, but she loves colour. Generally speaking, bright bold colours bring her the most joy but not always. She has been fascinated by circles for many years and these she uses to represent hugs. Adding circles and colours, evokes emotions, passion, joy and sometimes unease.

Along with being a prolific painter, Alison loves all forms of printmaking with Monotypes and Collotypes being favoured. However she teaches many forms of printmaking in her home studio as well as journal making/bookbinding too. The experiments she makes on paper are often used to line her leather journals.

Using a variety of different techniques and subject matter, she has acquired skills which she uses in producing artworks for charitable causes, private clients and exhibitions events. These skills are put to further use in the classes she teaches.

Teaching students from as young as four right through to adults, students are encouraged to explore their own capabilities whilst being skillfully supported by her acquired knowledge. Classes have been run in community centres, at students’ own homes, in schools and in Alison’s home studio.
