Lynn Toulson

Based in Epsom, Surrey, Lynn attended West Surrey College of Art and Design (now part of the UCA group) obtaining a degree in printed textiles back in the late 1980’s.

Lynn loves to work with colour, both in oil and acrylic, often applying paint with a palette knife and thickening mediums such as wax to add texture to my paintings. She is inspired by nature and her surroundings when travelling and walking her dogs. Working from her own photos is an imperative part of the process for her as she believes capturing the essence of a place which she feels is only possible if you have experienced it personally.

A few years ago, Lynn attended a foundation course in Art Therapy at Roehampton University which reinforced her opinion that art has a hugely positive effect on our mental wellbeing whether as a practitioner or a viewer.

Now that her family has grown up she feels she can return to my art. She is at the stage in her life where she wants to do more of what she loves, creating images and artworks that will hopefully bring joy to and resonate with the viewer.

Lynn exhibits locally several times a year as a member of Epsom and Ewell Art Group, including both Summer and Winter exhibitions at Denbies Vinyard in Dorking and The Horton, Epsom. She also exhibits and sells independently at various art fairs within Surrey. In addition, she exhibits with galleries including, South Street Gallery, Dorking, Art House Galleries in Woking and The Stockroom Society, Leatherhead. Lynn has also joined the Ginger Cactus Art group who organises exhibitions throughout the year.

If you enjoy Lynn’s work or you would like to discuss a commission, please do not hesitate to get in touch via her contact page.
