Lynne Reeves

Lynne has not received any formal art training, but from a young age she loved creating art. She creates art that is a bit ‘different’ to the norm, and I’ve been quite eclectic with subject matters and mediums over the years.

What is at the heart of all her work is drawing. As you can see from what she is producing now, the focus of each piece is a hand drawn graphite pencil portrait.

Lynne is also a pet portrait artist, using professional-coloured pencils as well as digital ‘fun’ style pet portraits, in a number of different styles, but with the emphasis of a true likeness to the pet in question.

Lynne latest works focus on portraiture created using mixed media.

Originally, she used real 3D artificial flowers as the hair to the portrait, but have progressed to using floral collages cut from photos of flowers she takes herself.

Often she will digitally enhance her photos to use as is or will change them to make them work as more interesting back drops to her works.

Her creativeness comes in with the use of embellishments such as jewels and rhinestones, trimmings etc. Occasionally she adds random embellishments, often concealed within the piece. Each piece is then given several layers of high gloss varnish to enhance the colours.
