My paintings are about expressing something of the irrepressible and mercurial beauty I experience in nature, from land and coast to forests and flowers. From the glowing embers of autumn, the mellow light of winter, the hopeful shoots of spring, to the hot, sultry days of summer, I gather memories and sketches to capture on canvas.

I’m inspired by the colours, shapes, gestures, textures and sounds in nature, and its ability to mirror our human emotions.

Working on a series of paintings at the same time, and using both classical and contemporary techniques, I create my work in oils and mixed media. I develop layers and marks and use structure and intuition to respond to my evolving work, to form images which express my experiences.
